Tech Talk by Tech Know Club: Exploring ‘The Internet of Things in Action’

March 17

The Tech Know Club at Mohan Babu University, School of Computing, successfully organized a “Tech Talk” on the title “The Internet of Things in Action” on March 17, 2025, from 10.00 AM to 12:00 PM in Room No. 2455. The event aimed to provide a platform for students to share their knowledge, improve their communication skills, and engage in insightful discussions on emerging trends in technology.

A total of 40 students participated in the event, showcasing their enthusiasm and eagerness to enhance their technical and presentation skills. The sessions included a series of tech talks where students presented various cutting-edge topics, fostering an environment of learning and collaboration.

The “Internet of Things in Action” refers to real-world applications and implementations of IoT (Internet of Things) technology in various industries and everyday life. IoT connects everyday objects and devices to the internet, allowing them to collect, share, and exchange data, making systems smarter, more efficient, and more interactive.

Benefits of the Internet of Things (IoT) in Action:

  • Efficiency: Devices automate tasks, leading to better resource management and reduced waste.
  • Convenience: Users can remotely monitor and control devices, leading to a more seamless, integrated experience.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: The data generated by IoT devices can provide insights to optimize processes from manufacturing to personal health.
  • Improved Safety: IoT devices in homes, cities, and workplaces help improve safety through monitoring systems.

Through initiatives like these, the club strives to nurture talent, boost confidence, and refine public speaking skills, thereby equipping students with the essential attributes required to excel as software professionals. Encouraging students to articulate their ideas effectively not only enhances their technical acumen but also prepares them for future career opportunities in the tech industry.

Mrs. P. Yasmin Bhanu, Assistant Professor at the School of Computing, is the faculty coordinator overseeing the organization and execution of the event. The faculty coordinators expressed that by conducting more such events, we firmly believe in unlocking the hidden potential of students, helping them become confident and proficient professionals in the field of computing.
