To commemorate “National Youth Day” and honor the enduring legacy of Swami Vivekananda, the SANSKRUTHI CLUB under the School of Commerce and Management of Mohan Babu University organized an Elocution Competition on 31st of December, 2024 from 10.30 to 1 P.M at Seminar Hall. The event served as a platform for university students to reflect upon and articulate the profound ideas of Swami Vivekananda, focusing on “Man-Making Education” and its relevance to youth empowerment. The main objective of the event was to to inspire students through Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of “Man-Making Education,” to provide a platform for showcasing oratory skills and critical thinking, to instill values of leadership, service, and self-realization among the youth.
The event was coordinated and organized under the guidance of Faculty Coordinator: Dr. Shyam Sundar, Sr. Assistant Professor, SOCM, Co-Convener: Dr. P. Akthar, Sr. Assistant Professor, SOCM whose wholehearted support and guidance helped the participants to contribute significantly. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 20 students who actively engaged in discussions, presentations.
The competition commenced at 10:30 AM with an introduction by the coordinators. A distinguished panel of judges evaluated the participants’ performances:
Each of the 34 participants was given 5 minutes to deliver a speech reflecting on the theme. The event showcased exceptional oratory skills, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. At the conclusion of the competition, six participants were shortlisted for further rounds to be held on January 19, 2025, adhering to the prescribed norms. The winners demonstrated outstanding oratory prowess and a profound grasp of the theme. The judges and attendees commended the participants for their enthusiasm, preparation, and eloquence. The relevance of the theme was praised, emphasizing its significance in addressing contemporary educational challenges. The organizers were lauded for selecting a topic that resonates with the aspirations of today’s youth.
The Elocution Competition successfully engaged students in exploring Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy and its application to modern-day challenges. The event left participants and the audience with a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration to embody the values of leadership, service, and self-realization. The Club Coordinator expressed his sincere gratitude to the participants for their significant contribution and making it a grand success.
