The Department of Computer Applications in collaboration with the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society hosted a one-day workshop titled “AI for Medical Image Analysis” on December 3rd 2024 from 12 P.M to 2 P.M at Technical Workshop. The event aimed to explore the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in revolutionizing healthcare through medical image analysis.
The workshop was hosted under the guidance and the support of the event Coordinator Dr. P. Bhasa, whose expertise and dedication ensured a fruitful learning experience for all participants.
The session focused on demonstrating how AI enhances the analysis of medical images such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, enabling faster and more accurate diagnostic processes. The event sought to provide a comprehensive understanding of AI’s integration in healthcare while highlighting its potential to address pressing medical challenges.
The guest speaker, Mr. D. Sai Satish, CEO of the Artificial Intelligence Medical and Engineering Researchers Society (AIMERS) in Vijayawada, brought a wealth of expertise to the forum. His extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in AI applications made him an exceptional guide for this technical exploration. The resource person emphasized the transformative impact of AI in healthcare, illustrating how AI-powered tools are streamlining diagnostic workflows, improving accuracy, and reducing turnaround times in medical imaging.
The workshop was an intellectual confluence, bringing together students, academicians, and professionals to delve into one of the most cutting-edge applications of AI. More than 60 students enthusiastically participated the event.
By the conclusion of the workshop, participants had gained knowledge in terms of comprehensive understanding of AI’s transformative applications in medical imaging, Hands-on experience with tools and techniques for analysing medical images. Awareness of ethical and regulatory considerations, fostering a balanced approach to AI integration in healthcare.
IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Coordinator expressed his gratitude to the resource person and the participants for making the event a grand success. Certificates of participation were distributed to all attendees.
The workshop not only enriched the technical skills of budding Engineers but also fostered a sense of passion, higher enthusiasm among the participants.
