A guest lecture on “Data Science and Machine Learning Application” was successfully organized by IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) and the Technical Association for IT (TAIT) of Mohan Babu University on the 7th of February 2025 from 10 A.M to 12 P.M at MNS BLOCK Room no 618. The primary aim of the session was to provide students with insights into the transformative impact of Data Science and Machine Learning (ML) across various industries. The lecture highlighted key advancements, applications, and challenges in the field, fostering a deeper understanding among students about real-world implementations.
The event was meticulously organized under the expert guidance and the super vision of the club coordinator Dr. P. Bhasha (esteemed professor of EEE Department. The session witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 92 students (50 male and remaining 42 female from IV & VI Semester Data Science (DS) and Information Technology (IT), as well as IV B.Tech IT & Computer Science and Systems Engineering (CSSE) students.
The session covered several crucial aspects of Data Science and Machine Learning, including: Introduction to Data Science & ML: Overview of how ML techniques are revolutionizing industries through data-driven decision-making and automation. Applications Across Industries: Healthcare: Disease diagnosis, drug discovery, and medical image analysis. Finance: Fraud detection, risk assessment, and algorithmic trading. Retail: Personalized recommendations, demand forecasting, and customer sentiment analysis. Deep Learning: Neural networks and their role in complex data processing. Natural Language Processing (NLP): AI applications like chatbots, speech recognition, and sentiment analysis. Reinforcement Learning: AI-driven decision-making, self-driving cars, and robotics. The session Addressed concerns regarding data privacy, model interpretability, and biases in AI, the role of big data and cloud computing in accelerating ML adoption, the future of AI-powered innovations and their potential impact on society. The interactive session allowed students to engage with industry-relevant concepts, ask questions, and gain practical knowledge about ML applications. The lecture provided valuable insights into career opportunities and advancements in AI, motivating students to explore the field further.
