Farm Machinery Club Insightful Awareness Program on, “Building Agri-Entrepreneurship Awareness Among Graduates”

 The Farm Machinery Club, in collaboration with the School of Agriculture organized an insightful session on “Building Agri-Entrepreneurship Awareness Among Graduates” on 20th February 2025 from 2 P.M to 4 P.M at the Commerce Block, Mohan Babu University. The event aimed to instill an entrepreneurial mindset among students by inspiring them to explore innovative solutions to challenges in the agricultural sector. Furthermore, the event objective was to create awareness among students about entrepreneurship opportunities in agriculture, to introduce innovative thinking, problem identification, and startup development strategies, to familiarize students with real-world agricultural challenges and solutions through case studies, to provide insights on government schemes, financial resources, and business models for Agri-startups.

The event was meticulously conducted by the featured experts from esteemed organizations such as: ANGRAU (Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University), FIREPT (Farm Innovation and Rural Entrepreneurship Promotion Trust), NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development)

The session began with an address by the experts, emphasizing the necessity for creative solutions in agriculture. Discussions revolved around: Identifying Real-World Problems: Addressing mechanization gaps, post-harvest losses, and sustainable farming challenges. Techniques for Problem-Solving: Application of design thinking, SWOT analysis, and innovation frameworks to develop viable agricultural solutions. Transforming Ideas into Startups: Exploring startup models such as: Custom Hiring Centres, Precision Farming Solutions, Value-Added Agri-Products. Farm Automation Technologies, Financial and Government Support: Accessing resources, leveraging government schemes, and building a sustainable business model in the Agri-sector. A highly engaging Q&A session enabled students to interact with the experts and seek guidance on critical aspects such as: Funding and investment opportunities for Agri-startups, Strategies for scaling business ideas, Overcoming challenges in market access and technological adoption. A total of 25 students participated in the event, including 20 Agriculture students and 5 Mechanical Engineering students.

The session provided a dynamic learning environment, equipping participants with the knowledge and confidence to explore agri-business opportunities.

The event successfully cultivated an entrepreneurial mindset among students, encouraging them to think beyond traditional farming practices. By focusing on innovation and sustainable solutions, students were motivated to explore various avenues in Agri-entrepreneurship. The insights from industry experts empowered them to take the first steps toward developing impactful and scalable agri-business ventures.

The Farm Machinery Club and the School of Agriculture expressed their gratitude to the esteemed panelists, faculty members, and participants for making this event a grand success.
