“Experiential Learning on Inorganic Salt Analysis” Organised by SCIENCE CLUB School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, MBU
B.SC First Semester students of Mohan Babu University proactively participated in an Experiential Learning session on “Inorganic Salt Analysis”. The main objective of the event was to identify and analyse an inorganic salt—Ammonium Phosphate—using various chemical tests. Students came into some productive conclusion after the experiment.
Tests Conducted & Observations:
1.Ammonium Molybdate Test
Observation: A canary yellow precipitate was formed, confirming the presence of the phosphate ion.

2.Nessler’s Reagent Test
Observation: A reddish-brown precipitate appeared, confirming the ammonium ion.

Additional Tests
Further tests validated the identity of ammonium phosphate, providing students with hands-on experience in salt analysis.
Conclusion: – Through these practical tests, students gained valuable experience in “qualitative analysis,” enhancing their understanding of inorganic chemistry principles and laboratory techniques.
