Communion Club Insightful Group Discussion on “Startups vs Big Tech”

The Communion Club of Mohan Babu University hosted a Group Discussion on one of the most debated topics in the modern professional and entrepreneurial landscape: “Startups vs Big Tech.” on 17th December, 2024 from 2.30 P.M to 4 P.M at Room no 202. The main objective of the session was to explore the dynamics between the two sectors like Startups vs Big Tech, sparking conversations that are crucial for students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and professionals alike.

The event was hosted by the Faculty Coordinator Ms. B. Hari. Chandana (Assistant Professor of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering) whose wholehearted support and guidance helped the participants to do their best. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 60 students engaging proactively and contributed significantly to the event.

The participants discussed the opportunities for creativity, faster growth, and close-knit team collaboration, making startups ideal for those who seek to build from the ground up. On the other hand, the discussion highlighted the stability, extensive resources, and global impact of big tech companies. With robust infrastructure and opportunities for specialization, they remain a popular choice for those aiming for structured career development. The participants addressed challenges such as high risks and limited resources in startups versus bureaucracy and competition within big tech companies.

The discussion left participants with a deeper understanding of the trade-offs between startups and big tech. It underscored the importance of personal aspirations, skills, and career goals in choosing between the two pathways.

The event was a resounding success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of the attendees and the guidance of Ms. B. Hari Chandana, who facilitated the engaging session with thought-provoking insights and seamless organization.
