The Plant Health Club at Mohan Babu University organized an enriching Bee Keeping Training session on October 25, 2024, at Narasingha Puram Farm. This hands-on training program aimed to provide students with both practical knowledge and strategic insights into the world of beekeeping, positioning it not only as a business opportunity but also as a field ripe with research potential. During the training Session, 40 participants gained foundational skills in managing Honeybee colonies, identifying common diseases and pests, and learning effective techniques for harvesting honey and marketing bee-related products. The program emphasized Bees’ crucial role in pollination, underscoring their significant contribution to food security, biodiversity, and ecosystem health.
In addition to technical skills, the training fostered a vision for apiculture as a sustainable and innovative field.It encouraged students to explore the exciting opportunities which offers for future research and environmental stewardship. This experience proved to be an invaluable introduction to the possibilities within apiculture, sparking interest in sustainable practices and the vital role of bees in maintaining ecological balance.
