The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at Mohan Babu University, School of Engineering (formerly known as Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College), was established in 1996 with an initial intake of 60 students offering the B.Tech (EEE) program. Over the years, the department has expanded its intake to 210 students, with an additional 20% intake under the lateral entry scheme, offering one undergraduate and two postgraduate programs. Currently, under Mohan Babu University, the department offers three undergraduate programs: B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with specializations in High Voltage Engineering and Power Systems, and B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a specialization in Automotive Electronics. The B.Tech program has been re-accredited by the NBA for three years (from 31.08.2023 to 30.06.2026).
The department also offers postgraduate programs in Electrical Power Systems and Doctoral Program. With a highly qualified faculty, including 17 PhD holders, the Department is well-equipped with advanced laboratories and a dedicated research center called the “Applied Renewable Energy Research Lab.”
Dr. M.S. Sujatha, Professor of EEE, is heading the Department, with over twenty-five years of teaching and research experience. She has published more than 45 research articles in reputed National/International Journals/Conferences, specializing in Wireless Sensors and Wireless Communication for Energy Management & Power Systems, Renewable Energy Sources, and Soft Computing Techniques.
