The Department of Data Sciences at Mohan Babu University is dedicated to equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the dynamic field of data science. All classrooms are equipped with ICT-enabled learning technologies, skill development centre, which is dedicated for skill enhancement programs for improving the employability.
The department has state-of-art computer labs and two research centers : Data Analytics and Cyber Security. These labs are equipped with the latest desktops, networking devices, and advanced computers for students to learn, experience, and create their codes and project works. Various softwares such MATLAB, Python, R-Studio, XAMPP, Weka, Oracle, Android Studio, Mongo Database, Argo UML, R 3.5.0, Apache Tomcat, BOSS Linux, TensorFlow, Keras, DeePy, Gensim, PyML, Numpy, Pandas, MatplotLib. The department also has Internet of Things Lab with latest Microcontrollers and Sensors.
Data Analytics Research Center, Mohan Babu University was started for the benefit of UG, PG students, Research scholars and faculty members. The Centre motivates the research activity in the fields of cloud computing and data science. The data analytics center is all equipped to create innovative solutions that influence the lives of people in positive ways. The center build systems and algorithms to extract knowledge, find patterns, generate insights, predict and visualize diverse data for healthcare and agricultural applications through cloud based services such as Meghdoot cloud by C-DAC, Chennai. The center is equipped with Data Analytics and cloud computing software such as Python, R Studio, Weka, Spark, Hadoop, RapidMiner, MATLAB and Meghdoot cloud.
Center for Computer Networks and Cyber Security at Mohan Babu University was established to empower the students and faculty to gain practical experience on current cyber security solutions and technologies. The major areas of research are IoT security, Cyber Physical System Security, Computer network security, Network monitoring and forensics, Vulnerability remediation and Assurance, Cloud computing and Software defined Networks.
The faculty has published 46 papers in peer reviewed journals, presented 75 papers in international conferences and 15 books and book chapters. Filed 20 patents and 02 patents were granted.
The department has conducted International Conference on Data Analytics, Smart Computing and Networks during 2022 and 2023 respectively.
The Department is offering curriculum in collaboration with IBM and SAP.
The BoS is composed with academic and Industry experts from premier organizations to prepare the curriculum to meet industry and career needs.
We offer students unparalleled opportunities for internships and research projects with top companies TCS, Wipro, CTS etc. These experiences enhance their academic learning and prepare them for a seamless transition into the professional world.
