Programming Langauge Laboratory:
This Laboratory facilitates in developing robust applications using C, C++, Java, Python. Students can design web based applications using PHP, XAMP. Students are able to develop wireless applications using java.
Database Management System laboratory:
Aims at facilitating and improving the usability of database concepts. Oracle 11g has installed in all systems in this laboratory. Using this Oracle 11g, students can design tables, procedures, triggers and packages. Students can develop applications using web development applications with Oracle as backend.
Operating System Lab
The Operating System lab is equipped with 66 Core 2 Duo processor based computers, 3 Intel i5 based computers and 1 Pentium 4 based computer counting to 70 altogether. Ubuntu Operating System is installed in all computers. To support various programming environment related to operating systems, the systems are configured with Java, Oracle Client, R studio, NS2/NAM , NodeJS and Netbeans IDE.
Web Technologies Laboratory
The Web Development laboratory is equipped with an Intel i5 and i7 processors with a total of 70 computers. The lab is also installed with tools and libraries for students to gain expertise in designing and developing web applications for Web development courses. The lab is installed with Appserv (PHP, MYSQL, Apache) package, Nodejs, Apache Netbeans IDE, Eclipse IDE.

The Department is active in following thrust areas: Algorithms and Complexity, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Computing, Networking and Communication, and Image Processing. Expertise of faculty members in these thrust areas has attracted consultancy research projects. The Department gains its strength from publication in high impact factor journals, reputed conferences/book publications, research projects, training and consultancy activities. The department offers an atmosphere conducive for research scholars for pursuing research in various advanced areas of Computer Science and Engineering.
The Department has considerable strength in computational complexity theory. Research facilities include multi-core and GPU servers.
The Department has considerable strength in bio-medical image processing, digital image and video processing. Recent focus include satellite image processing for remote monitoring of agricultural land.
The department focuses in the following research topics with an exploration and study in the rapidly evolving field of software engineering; software development approaches, quality of software, testing of software, maintenance of software, security measures for software, machine learning models in software engineering, DevOps, and architecture of software.
Major research themes being pursued by the faculty are as follows: Spectrum sensing algorithms, Cognitive radio architecture and software abstractions, and Cooperative wireless communications.
As the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, I'm proud to share the breadth of our achievements. In sports, our students have excelled, demonstrating the importance of teamwork and strategy. Our research contributions are significant, with students and faculty publishing in esteemed journals, advancing the field of computer science. Our faculty have been recognized for their dedication to teaching and innovative research. Particularly, noteworthy are our programs in SAP, where students have secured valuable paid internships, gaining real-world experience. These accomplishments reflect our commitment to excellence in all facets of academic and professional development.
The department took initiative to get research collaboration with m/s Sagri Co., Ltd. Japan and started working in collaboration with them since 2018.The department is providing consultancy services in the area of applied AI and ML especially on AI for agriculture. The majority of our faculty members are continuing their research in various streams to develop principled solutions to problems and illustrate solutions with working prototypes
