The IBM Centre of Excellence plays a crucial role in driving innovation, expertise, and collaboration within a specific domain, leveraging the capabilities of IBM’s technology portfolio. It serves as a hub for research, development, and knowledge dissemination to benefit both the organization hosting the Centre of Excellence (CoE) and the broader community. The primary goal is to foster excellence in a particular area, utilizing IBM’s products, services, and technologies.
The key aspects and functions associated with an IBM Centre of Excellence is to explore and innovate in areas related to IBM offerings, and to develop new applications, solutions, and approaches using IBM technologies.
Collaborative program with IBM is started at Mohan Babu University in 2022. The department of AI & ML conducts Workshops on every semester and also organizes training on the curriculum prescribed by the IBM for the students registered for IBM collaborative program.
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning established on an ultra-modern campus with world-class infrastructure and architecture. The academic and research faculty of the school are talented, highly experienced, and follow innovative teaching methodology. The automated and digital library has over 9000 Journals and E-journal subscriptions including IEEE with POP, ASCE, and ASME Journals, which is a gateway to global knowledge. The faculty of MB SET has published over two hundred research articles in peer-reviewed journals with good impact factors at the National and International level, has patents, and have acquired grants from various National Level funding Organizations such as AICTE, DST-HUB, DST, SEED, ISRO, UGC, and so on.
Students are encouraged to actively participate in National and International Conferences, Workshops, Seminars, and Hands-on training programs. This aids them to explore and incubate their ideas in IDEA Lab, which has been setup worth Rs.1.13 Crore for the purpose of imparting training in Skill Development Centres, viz., Home Automation, AgroMachinery, Home Electrical, Welding, CNC, Design/CBT Labs; owning Membership and participating in various Professional chapters viz., ISTE, IEEE, IEI, ASCE, IGS, ACM, CSI, SAE India, ISHARE, IWS, IIPE, ASME, IGBC.
A machine learning lab is an environment equipped with the necessary tools and resources for conducting research, experiments, and practical work in the field of machine learning.
The Center for Research in Machine Learning was established in the year 2022 at Mohan Babu University, collaborating with Central Connecticut State University, USA, with the goal of using smart applications to solve problems in the real world. The Machine Learning (ML) lab facility serves as a dedicated space equipped with the necessary hardware, software, and resources to conduct experiments, research, and projects related to machine learning.
The dedicated machine learning lab facility provided a structured and supportive environment for individuals and teams to explore the vast possibilities of machine learning, contribute to research, and apply their knowledge to real-world problems.
The primary purpose of such a facility is to provide an environment where individuals or teams can explore, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms. This lab also facilitates to carryout various training programs to faculty and students, helps in getting new thought processes, experimenting with different machine learning frameworks, libraries, and tools.
The Department's faculty has been awarded a DST-sanctioned project with a budget of 40 Lakhs. The faculty members have contributed more than 130 articles to indexed journals within the realm of machine learning, covering topics such as Cancer detection, Driver drowsiness, and Heart Disease prediction. Research within the realm of deep learning has been conducted, with the implementation of various algorithms in sectors such as Healthcare, Weather forecasting, Agriculture, Education, and the stock market.
Faculty members of the department have published in reputed Journals with high impact factors and quartiles and presented in prestigious international conferences showcasing the research potential.
A group of elite faculty members were also sanctioned with research projects with DST in recognition of their research capabilities.
Faculty members have been awarded prestigious awards for their achievements in the domain of education in Computer Science.
Students have won accolades for the department through their participation in External events like Hackathons and Coding contests at National Level.
Student run department clubs and associations are promoting National Schemes which are widely praised in the department.
The department is undertaking consultancy works in terms of accomplishing Projects worth Rs.46 lakhs from its clients to provide intelligent and automated solutions.
The department has set up the art laboratory in collaboration with IBM. The department has signed MoUs with many reputed firms to provide the best of the best teaching and research practices.
Soft Computing Research Society (SCRS)
The primary objective of the society is to support and promote research activities in the field of soft computing and related areas. SCRS is also involved in organizing academic events, lectures, discussions, workshops, seminars, and conferences, for motivating and guiding the young researchers. The society also sponsors the academic trip of young researchers.
