Padma Shri Dr. M. Mohan Babu is the Chancellor of Mohan Babu University and the Founder and Chairman of the Sri Vidyanikethan Educational Trust. A brilliant, versatile, and popular cine artiste by choice and a producer of great talent, Dr. M. Mohan Babu has acted in more than 560 movies and produced over 72 films, all carrying significant contemporaneous social messages to society. Some of these movies have won national-level awards, carrying his reputation far and wide. Dr. M. Mohan Babu has been the recipient of distinguished national awards for his creative and innovative roles in movies.
In recognition of his versatility, Dr. M. Mohan Babu was nominated as a Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from 1995 to 2000. In that capacity, he spared no effort to strive for the social, economic, and educational reconstruction and the well-being of the rural poor. He is a passionate educationist with a mission to provide quality education at an affordable cost, thus contributing richly to the development of human resources necessary for the country’s economic and industrial well-being.
As a Physical Director in the early phase of his career, Dr. M. Mohan Babu witnessed the potential of rural youth in some categories of sports and games. This led him to make Physical Education an important constituent of the proposed university. He is a humble philanthropist, helping many organizations serve the deprived sections of
society. As chairman of SVET, he has about three decades of rich experience in establishing and managing educational institutions. Under his leadership, Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions have gained a high reputation in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
He laid the foundation of Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust in 1993. Now, after three decades, his efforts have been rewarded. Several premier institutions such as Sree Vidyanikethan Institute of Management, Sree Vidyanikethan College of Nursing, Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College, Sree Vidyanikethan College of Pharmacy, and Sree Vidyanikethan Degree College, which were already functioning under the SVET, are now part of Mohan Babu University.

Our journey is captivating, heralding a new wave of discipline, dedication, and commitment to imparting high-quality education. The collective efforts of the faculty, staff, students, and parents have transformed the once typical rural ambience into a vibrant haven for multi-disciplinary academics, with thousands of stakeholders.
Students at Mohan Babu University invariably stand encouraged in their scientific, technological, and cultural endeavors, besides sharing a unique space earmarked for sports and games. Every member of the Mohan Babu University is a valuable contributor to the ultimate goal of providing the best education to the students, making them meaningful and productive citizens, and above all good human beings.
