The CAD Club of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Mohan Babu University successfully organized an event titled, “CAD Combat” on 24th December 2024 from 11.30 to 12.30 P.M at Mechanical Block. The objective of the event was to enhance participants’ proficiency in CAD software, foster creative problem-solving and critical thinking and also equip students with practical skills to address industry-relevant design problems.
The event was conducted by the event Coordinator Dr. S. Lakshmi Narayana (Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering) whose wholehearted support and guidance helped the participants to contribute proactively. The event witnessed 28 participants from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, all of whom displayed remarkable enthusiasm and dedication.
Participants were presented with time-bound tasks requiring them to apply advanced drafting techniques and innovative solutions to solve complex mechanical design problems. The challenges simulated real-world engineering scenarios, allowing students to showcase their technical acumen and creativity. The competitive format created an engaging atmosphere, pushing participants to achieve their best within the allotted time. Focus areas included precision drafting, optimal design strategies, and aesthetic aspects of mechanical components. Students refined their technical proficiency and gained hands-on experience with CAD tools. The event provided an excellent platform for participants to demonstrate their skills, enhancing their industry readiness.
“CAD Combat” was a resounding success, fulfilling its objectives of enhancing students’ design capabilities and preparing them for industry challenges. The participants’ feedback underscored the value of such practical, skill-oriented activities in their academic journey.
