ACTIVITY HIGHLIGHTS:
In a heartfelt initiative to reconnect with nature and promote ecological harmony, the Tree Appreciation Club organized a hands-on activity focused on Seed Ball Preparation for Afforestation. This engaging event brought together students eager to contribute to environmental conservation through practical action. The activity revolved around creating seed balls—a simple yet innovative method of planting trees. Using a mixture of native tree seeds, nutrient-rich soil, and clay, students crafted seed balls designed to:
The seeds were carefully chosen to include a variety of ecologically significant native species, such as Yellow Gulmohar, Tamarind, Soap Nut, Teak, Sandalwood and Neem.
Participants not only learned sustainable farming techniques but also had the unique opportunity to contribute directly to local afforestation efforts. After preparing the seed balls, students ventured into the vacant areas of Narasingha Puram village, enthusiastically broadcasting them to rejuvenate the land. To ensure long-term success, the Tree Appreciation Club will monitor the growth of the saplings and continue its efforts by organizing more tree-planting drives in the future. This event inspired participants to appreciate the beauty and importance of local flora and fauna, leaving them with a deeper sense of environmental responsibility.
