Prof. Nagaraj Ramrao

Vice Chancellor, Mohan Babu University

Prof. Nagaraj Ramrao, an eminent academician, researcher and an able administrator, is the Vice Chancellor of Mohan Babu University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Prof. Nagaraj Ramrao holds a PhD from Visvesvaraya Technological University. During his career spanning more than 30 years, he served as Vice Chancellor of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Srivilliputtur, Tamilnadu, Director of Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Mentor Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)-Vadodara, Gujarat, Director and Principal of The Oxford College of Engineering, Bangalore where he also served as a Professor & Head of the ECE Department. Earlier, he was a Professor and Director of the R.V. Center for Cognitive Technologies, a R&D Center, ECE Department, R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore, and an Assistant Engineer at Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd and also at MSRIT, Bangalore. He also had several administrative assignments, such as BOE/BOS member for VTU, Bangalore University, Manipal University-MAHE etc. Prof. Nagaraj Ramrao also served as a Principal Investigator for various completed and ongoing DRDO research projects. He published several research papers and articles in peer-reviewed journals and transactions and guided several research scholars towards their PhD. He was also an Independent Director at Gujarat Informatics Ltd, and a National Merit Scholar. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, Fellow – Institute of Engineers (India), and a recent past Chair-IEEE CIS Chapter-Gujarat Section, Life Member of IETE, ISTE, ACM and Computer Society of India and a Peer reviewer for various important International Journals/Transactions on Fault Tolerance and Optimal Control. The Vice Chancellor was a recipient of the Rashtreeya Shikshana Samiti Award for Academic Excellence for the years 2006 and 2007, the VVLSI Mentorship Award from RV VLSI Design Center, Bangalore, the Most Dedicated Vice Chancellor Award in September 2020 by Golden AIM Conference and Awards for Excellence and Leadership in Education and Academic Leadership award by Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE) for the year 2020.

There is no knowledge for the seekers of comfort, and no comfort for seekers of knowledge। A seeker of comfort should give up knowledge, and a seeker of knowledge should give up comfort॥ (Upanishad) It is a matter of honor and immense pleasure for me to be a part of Mohan Babu University (MBU) as its Founder Vice-Chancellor. I take this prestigious position with the intention of not only upholding the institution's historical accomplishments but also leading it in new directions in line with the needs of the modern era and vision of the Respected Chancellor Dr M Mohan Babu garu and Pro-Chancellor Sri Vishnu Manchu garu. As an accomplished educationist with comprehensive operational, planning, and program development experience in the educational sector, I am well prepared to contribute to the growth of this university in making it one of the most sought-after destinations for higher education both in India and abroad. In the past few years, the Higher education scenario globally has witnessed a significant change in approach and remarkable growth. The National Education Policy 2020 which is based on the foundational pillars of Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability, and Accountability, aims to transform India into a vibrant knowledge society and global knowledge superpower by making school and college education more holistic, flexible, multidisciplinary, suited to 21st-century needs, and aimed at bringing out the unique capabilities of each student. The strong legacy of Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions, armored with its unique character of flying high and reaching creative peaks, MBU upholds an array of attributes distinct to its energetic approach to make dreams come alive and welcoming a positive shift in the higher educational spectra. A multifarious approach in teaching learning, great infrastructure and unique pedagogy results in preparing students to meet the challenges of the future. A wide range of clubs and activities ensure the overall intellectual growth of this young techno dexterous generation.
